Privacy Policy

The only data we collect about you is that required to contact you and to satisfy Government of Nova Scotia requirements laid out in the Societies Act.  We never sell or share your data.

Your membership information is stored on paper in a 3-ring binder.  Offline.

We also maintain a spreadsheet containing your name, email address, phone number, postal code, and your membership type (Pillar, Core, or Associate), in a Google Drive folder which is available only to the current Board of Directors.  From the Google Drive Privacy Statement:

When you upload files to Google Drive, they are stored in secure data centres.  Your files are private unless you share them.

We also use Google Groups for our monthly and occasional breaking news communication bulletins that we email to you. The data that is used in this case is only your name and email address.  For more information, please see the Google  Privacy Statement.

Our website makes use of reCAPTCHA(v3) for security reasons.  They say:

… the reCAPTCHA API works by collecting hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sending this data to Google for analysis. The information collected in connection with your use of the service will be used for improving reCAPTCHA and for general security purposes. It will not be used for personalised advertising by Google.
