Visiting Teacher Richard John

The Mahone Bay Meditation Centre is Proud to Present

Sunday September 27, 8:30am – 5pm
The feeling that anxiety and alienation are increasing in the world is not imaginary. The dark age has been predicted by visionary lineage holders from Padmasambhava to Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. We are tempted to react to aggression with more aggression, or to turn away and hide in our bunkers—material or psychological. The wisdom of the dharma goes in the opposite direction, challenging us to become more peaceful, kind, and powerful at the same time. Meditation is the key to this transformative process.

About Richard John An early student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Richard completed the first traditional Buddhist three-year retreat at Gampo Abbey. He has taught Shambhala Buddhist programs in North America, Chile and New Zealand for many years, and resides in Halifax, with his wife, Liz.
